About Cactus Tokyo
Cactus Tokyo is a plant brand that produces high-quality ornamental plants, primarily US-grown Agave, at two locations: Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture, and Nago, Okinawa Prefecture. We offer a wide range of products, from easy-to-handle 3-inch potted seedlings to large specimens ideal for garden and store displays, and we are actively introducing highly rare varieties, such as variegated plants.
For retailers and landscape professionals, we provide a lineup that helps differentiate your business by ensuring a stable supply of high-quality specimens. We offer comprehensive support, ranging from "easy-to-handle sizes" to "prominent centerpiece plants" that expand your options for store displays and proposals.
In addition to selling plants, we also handle layout proposals for stores and residences, as well as rock garden construction. We can provide plant recommendations with an eye toward overall spatial design.
※We do not conduct in-person sales at our physical locations.
Our Policy
Harvesting plants directly from their native habitats (field-collected specimens) can reduce wild populations and risk damaging native ecosystems. Cactus Tokyo does not import field-collected specimens, and we operate under the following policies to ensure that plants can be enjoyed as horticulture for years to come:
- Endangered species are produced from seeds: We produce and sell plants grown from seeds.
- Varieties with high horticultural value are propagated from imported parent plants: For popular horticultural varieties like Agave titanota, we actively import parent plants and propagate them at our own nurseries.
Lawful Importation
Through our unique procurement routes, we import rare varieties rarely seen in Japan from overseas. All imports are carried out legitimately, strictly following the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) and plant quarantine procedures.
Propagation and Production at Our Nurseries
We grow imported parent plants and seedlings at our two proprietary nurseries, which feature different climates:
- Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture: Agave
- Nago, Okinawa Prefecture: Caudex such as Adenium
We also share updates from our nurseries on Instagram.
Regarding Seeds
We exclusively import seeds that are difficult for individuals to import themselves, sourcing them legitimately from overseas seed suppliers. We only handle species subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) once all required permits and plant quarantine procedures have been completed. We are currently preparing to begin sales.
